What is a wedding gift list?

A wedding gift list is a ‘wish list’ created by engaged couples of gifts that they have chosen to set them up for their married life. Designed for both guests and the couple, it offers a super easy gifting experience.

A wedding gift list allows guests to choose gifts they know the couple will love with confidence.

For couples, having a gift list allows them to invest in their future together by choosing gifts, experiences and funds that they actually want and need!

How do wedding gift lists work?

With Prezola, you can create your account for free, start browsing products and adding gifts to your list!

You can also add an unlimited number of cash contributions, honeymoon funds, charity donations and bespoke gifts. Our only charge is a highly competitive 2% cash transfer administration fee that will be applied to any cash contributions and honeymoon funds.

There will be nothing for you to pay as we will deduct the charge before transferring your funds to you.

You can open your list as soon as you like and guests can buy a gift as soon as you publish your list. You can also keep your list open for as long as you like after the wedding.

Guests can choose any combination of gifts and cash contributions quickly and easily with our secure online checkout. They will also have the option to pay for luxury gift wrap and a gift card printed with their message.

If you change your mind about a gift, you can exchange it for any of the products we list on site.

Cash contributions are transferred straight to your chosen bank account whenever you like. With Prezola, you can receive up to three free cash transfers.

After your wedding day, we’ll send you all your lovely gifts!

Should we have a wedding gift list?

Absolutely! We think it’s a win-win for both the couple and their guests. 99% of guests will want to buy the couple a gift to congratulate them on their wedding. A gift list makes it easy for them to find something they know the couple will love!

Plus, it eliminates the risk of any duplicate gifts.

When should we create our wedding gift list?

Ideally, you should start creating your list around 6 months before your wedding. This gives you plenty of time to build your list and share it with your guests on any printed wedding stationery.

However, we know wedding planning can get a little hectic, so, don’t worry if you’re short on time, you can always build your list and share details with your guests using your wedding website!

How many gifts should we add?

Great question, but fear not! We’ve created our nifty gift list calculator which you can find on your Prezola dashboard, once you've registered. Do it now, it's completely free!

Just pop in how many guests you’re inviting to your wedding and we’ll let you know how many gifts to add.

What’s more, we’ll even recommend price points, for budgets big and small.

How much do guests spend on a wedding gift?

That’s a tricky one and it varies on a number of factors. However, we have found that at Prezola the average guest spends £40-80 on a gift. We always recommend that you add a variety of gifts, with different price points, so that your guests have plenty of choice.

Don’t forget, you can enable group gifting on any Prezola present, meaning your guests can contribute as much or as little as they like towards a particular gift.

What price point should couples start from?

If you really want something, I suggest putting it on your gift list whatever the price. Guests often group together for a large purchase (i.e. group gifting) or will buy more than one item. We are constantly surprised at how much guests spend!

Our group gifting option is brilliant for anyone worried about guests spending too much, it allows multiple contributions to one gift so you get what you really want and guests can stay within their budget.
