Silpat™ was founded in 1965 when the experienced French baker Monsieur Guy Demarle invented a new baking mat to prepare and bake baguettes. Because of the unique silicon and manufacturing process Monsieur Guy Demarle named the mats Silpat™ and rapidly he became known for the best baguettes in France. Since then up to today Silpat™ is synonym of innovation and high quality in professional baking.
