10 mini-moon destinations to fall in love with
5 Min Read
We love a mini-moon! Done right, it should have all the steamy romance of a big-fat-traditional honeymoon, just on a slightly smaller scale. It costs less, takes less annual leave, less planning, less travel time, less honeymoon funds… less hassle all around. But it’s no less fun and DEFINITELY no less exciting!
Here at Prezola, we partner with Mr and Mrs Smith and Airbnb, both of which offer the most amazing mini moon destinations in the UK and abroad. You can add vouchers for one of these stunning stays to your Prezola wedding registry and plan the mini moon of your dreams, while your wedding guests help you make it happen.
We’ve selected some of the best mini moon destinations from each to give you a few ideas.
But first, exactly what is a mini-moon?
A mini-moon pretty much does what it says on the tin… it’s a mini honeymoon! It’s the growing trend among newlyweds, of sneaking off for a few days of R and R directly after the wedding. It’s a great option for couples on a limited budget or if you’re saving up for that big traditional honeymoon trip at a later date.
What do you do on a mini-moon?
Well, we can certainly think of a thing or two… But we’re sure you don’t need our help with THAT! So, aside from the obvious… it’s all about what will make you happy! Wedding planning is hard work, so this is your chance to blow off some steam and make the most of those first few days as newly-minted married people!
It’s all about minimum stress, and maximum pleasure. How does stargazing in your own private igloo sound? Adventuring around the country in an American Airstream? Or how about communing with nature in a luxury treehouse?
Pro tip: Check out Airbnb’s OMG section for some really out of this world mini moon ideas!
How many days is a mini-moon?
Think of a mini-moon as a short honeymoon. Usually a long weekend, so 2 to 5 days, is pretty normal.
Being shorter than the traditional honeymoon, which is usually 10 days to 2 weeks, it is perfect for a quick romantic mini-break with your number one person!
How much does a mini-moon cost?
What you spend on your mini-moon is totally up to you and depends on the budget you have to play with. But it will usually be much less than what you might spend on the traditional exotic 2-week getaway. Staying closer to home and taking a shorter trip definitely makes for a more budget-friendly option and means you may have more spending money to splash out on something special while you’re there… world’s fastest zipline anyone?… It’s in Wales!
