Working with state-of-the-art equipment and professional glassmakers, this is an exciting and unusual experience you'll never forget.

You'll be working with hot molten glass straight from the furnace so you'll need extreme attention to detail and a steady hands as well as creativity to master this skill. You'll learn what the equipment in the studio is used for and how to work safely in a challenging environment. You'll each have the chance to create your own piece of glass work to keep.

• What's included? Hands-on experience for two working with molten glass, work with state-of-the-art equipment, expert tuition from professional glassmakers, demonstration and introduction to glass blowing
• This experience is available on Saturdays or Sundays (on one or two weekends a month) from September to May from 10.00 to 13.00 and 14.00 to 17.00
• We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available
• All bookings are subject to availability
• Please allow up to 3 hours 30 minutes for this experience
• Minimum age: 18
• You must have a good level of fitness in order to participate in this experience as you will be on your feet for most of the day
• Classes are for up to 8 people and will be led by two experienced glassmakers
• The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary
• Please dress in comfortable clothing (skirts are not permitted)
• Avoid flammable materials and open-toed sandals
• You will be asked to remove all jewellery and tie back long hair
• You may wish to bring other clothing to change into at the end of the day as you are likely to get hot and dirty
• Please note: Glassmaking is a team activity; the aim is to have people working for as much of the day as possible (with regular breaks)
• A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
• Please note: Any glass items made by you will have to be annealed overnight, so they cannot be taken away at the end of the day. Your glass can be forwarded at a cost of £20 per person payable on the day, if for any reason the glass does not survive annealing, the £20 cost of grinding, packing and shipping will be refunded back to you
• Unfortunately Glass work cannot be kept for collection
